Sending Samples To Us

Samples will be stable enough at room temperature so do not have to be submitted on ice. Please make sure that they are well packed if they are being posted.

Please mark them clearly with your name.

Internal Customers

You can either leave the samples on the shelf outside lab 314 in the Lindo Ferguson Building, or you can use the internal mail and send them to “Genetic Analysis Services at Otago, Department of Anatomy, Lindo Ferguson Building” (FAO Joanne Gillum)

External Customers

It is recommended that you use an overnight courier service to protect the integrity of the samples

 

Processing Times

Sequencing

Full 96-well plates (either for full service or run-only plate service) may be submitted at any time and will be processed as soon as possible.

If you have fewer than 96 samples for the full service please submit them by 3pm at the latest on a Monday or Wednesday, and they will be processed and the results returned to you by midday on the Wed/Fri.

If you have fewer than 96 samples for the run-only service please submit them by 11am at the latest on a Tuesday or Thursday, and they will be processed and the results returned by midday on the Wed/Fri.

Please Note: The above times for sample submission are deadlines for sample processing on that particular day. You can submit your samples at any time, on any day, and they will be processed on the next allocated sequencing day.

Genotyping

Full 96-well plates of genotyping may be submitted at any time and will be processed as soon as possible.

If you have fewer than 96 samples please submit them by midday on Wednesday and they will be processed and the results returned later that afternoon.
